Shedding light upon the figure of general Mehmet Pashe Deralla

Abstract

Our historiography should reflect more, to fully give light values such notable figures, who for ideological reasons, the system abandoned and anathematized. This happened also with the image of Mehmet Pasha Deralla. Mehmet Pasha Deralla was registered in Albanian historiography as one of the protagonists of the Albanian League of Prizren in 1878. General Mehmet Pasha Deralla was one of the main protagonists who resisted opposite with centuries the Serbian-Montenegrin attacks, which aimed the occupation of northern Albania. Under his command, Albanian fighters crushed Serbian forces in the space between White Drin and Black Drin. Was this an anti resistance of attacks from the north, which created normal conditions enabling the celebration of the historic act of raising the flag in Vlora.
