Në moshat e reja deri në adoleshencë për të korrigjuar problemet transversale të maksilës në përgjithësi përdorim si ankorim dhëmbët e pacientit. Në shumicën e rasteve aparatet që përdorim në këtë mënyrë janë shumë efektive. Në moshat pas adoleshencës dhë në të rritur, që të arrihen rezultate të mira duhet të përdorim mënyra të tjera ankorimi, sic është ankorimi skeletik, me anë përdorimit te minividave të vendosura në palatum. Studimet e fundit tregojnë se rezultat janë shumë premtuese dhë kanë zgjeruar gamën e mundësive të trajtimit edhe tek të rriturit me probleme transversale.Keywords:
