The volume “Ethnocultural Horizons” marks the 20th edition of prof. Ramazan H. Bogdani during a period of 44 years, from 1976 to 2020. Treated with denominational notions horizons and ethnocultural, it certainly testifies for a material and spiritual universe of our traditions, in the ethnographic, folkloric, anthropological, geographical, historical and psychological perspective. Consequently, through “Ethnocultural Horizons” the author has tried to present a kind of universe in the artistic-scientific genre of national popular culture.
“Ethnocultural Horizons” is a professional research as well as an autobiographical horizon, a work that simultaneously touches the human feelings and experiences of a grandfather, who dedicates the volume to his niece, and the study effort of an accomplished professional working in the field of art, a researcher and a practitioner in the field of science.
The author’s active life, in art and science, as a participant and researcher, many travels and what he has collected from them, meetings and portrayals, findings, are subjects for horizons, ethnoculture and autobiography.
Prof. Bogdani has personified the Albanian ethnocultural
identities through the lands in Albania, Kosovo, Chameria, the Albanians in Macedonia, Montenegro, the Arbëresh of Italy, the Arvanites in Greece, the diaspora in Mandrica, Bulgaria, in Zadar, Croatia, as well as the Old Albanians of Ukraine.
Unlike previous publications of prof. Bogdani, the subject and the conception of this volume seem to personalize the physiognomy of his figure with that of the creator in the field of art and the explorer and researcher in the field of science.
