Halim Deralla, distinguished personality of Albanian autonomy movement

Abstract

Undoubtedly, the history of a nation is the story of the great families of this nation. The great Albanian families have at any time been the first barricades against every whirlwind, uneducated in their stoicism; they have been waiting and confronted with the horde of enemies all over, while defending their honor and nation. Of course, in the verse of these great families, the family of Deralla occupies its deserved place in Albanian history of the last century. Among the ancestors of this family, Mehmet Pasha Deralla would leave military ranks and honorific titles offered by the High Porte, fully serving to Albania, in the first row of the knights seeking independence for the ethnic lands. This pure Albanianism of the first Minister of War in Albania (1912) was also transmitted to his sons Halimi, Gajuri, Hyseni etc.
