About the Journal

Art Studies is an academic journal published by the Centre for Art Studies at the Academy of Sciences of Albania. Its first issue came out in 1995. Art Studies addresses pressing issues as well as problems of historical importance related primarily (though not exclusively) to modern and contemporary art in Albania, favoring interdisciplinary approaches to artistic and cultural phenomena more generally. Art Studies is published annually and since 2020 it comes out both in print and online as an open-access journal. Also since 2020, each issue of the journal has a thematic axis, which the authors must adhere to in their writings. The types of articles published in Art Studies include: research articles, review articles, project reports, interviews, etc. The journal’s editors accept manuscripts in two languages, Albanian and English. The editor-in-chief of Art Studies is Dr Jonida Gashi.
