Abstract

Creativity is an important indicator of students’ success in life. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between creativity and student self-realization, as well as to determine how creative skills affect student self-actualization. This study was based on its research question, “what was the impact of creativity on the degree of self-actualization of students?”. In this study, quantitative methods were used. The population was the students of the fifth grade of Durrës, from which a sample of 298 students was selected, 48% males and 52% females. The study questionnaire consisted of two parts; the first part measured the student’s self-actualization, according to the self-actualization index with 15 indicators, according to Jones and Crandall (1986) and the second part measured creativity in learning with 16 indicators, according to Kumar and Holman (1997), the shortened version. A moderate relationship between students’ creativity and self-realization is observed. At the same time, it is noted that the application of creative techniques positively affected the degree of self-acceptance and self-confidence. Based on this study, it is recommended that teachers should apply methods and techniques, to encourage creativity in students, and contribute to their future.
